Mike is a junior forester at Trout Mountain Forestry. He’s enjoying creating forest management plans for family forestland owners. On the municipal side, Mike’s done forest inventory, mapping, and management planning for Benton County, the City of Toledo, Oregon Metro, and the City of Cannon Beach. Mike’s also been consulting with Clackamas County to help develop a wildfire management plan. In the cities of Forest Grove and Corvallis, Mike’s helped lay out harvests, and, for Camp Fire Columbia and the Girl Scouts he’s joined with Barry to do some low-impact logging work. Mike is also certified as a Technical Service Provider (TSP) with the Natural Resource Conservation Service, a major provider in Oregon of cost-share assistance for forest management planning and conservation practice implementation. When not in the woods for work or pleasure, Mike can be found working on his urban homestead skills (tending the vegetable garden, canning, brewing beer) or searching Portland for good, cheap eats.
